WEBDec 11, 2012 · Lead usually won't spark in a ball mill( it would take quite a lot of abuse extraordinary circumstances for it to become a possibility). when hardened with antimony it is a rather good choice for your needs, assuming a negligible amount of lead is acceptable.

WEBMar 15, 2021 · Somewhere around here I reported my results with various sizes of SS media from 3/161/2" diameter spheres, using a 4" diameter mill jar to mill the charcoal. The potassium nitrate grinds better with the larger 1/2" media. The sweet spot for charcoal in my rudimentary testing was 5/16" diameter.

The price wasn't much of an issue and were definitely cheaper than my brass media. I can't remember specifics but I got like 200 1/2" weights for around 15 20 USD.
